London, UK (14 November 2024) – The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority hosted a memorable evening to honour and express gratitude to its partners and colleagues who participated in World Travel Market 2024. The celebratory dinner, held on Friday, 8th November, took place at the Burleigh Arms on the outskirts of Cambridge, renowned for its historic charm and vibrant dining scene. The event featured a four-course set menu crafted by acclaimed Antiguan Chef Kareem Roberts, the head chef at this notable venue.
This special thank-you dinner brought together key travel industry leaders, partners, and colleagues to celebrate their collective efforts and involvement in the prestigious three-day global industry event. It provided a meaningful space for all involved to reflect on this year’s achievements and strengthen relationships for the year ahead.
“It was a true pleasure to cook for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and the valued partners and friends who mean so much to our islands,” said Chef Kareem Roberts. “Bringing a taste of Antigua to Cambridge and having the honour of cooking for Sir Vivian Richards made this evening especially memorable. It’s always a privilege to share the vibrant flavours of our culture with those who help bring our island’s spirit to the world.”
Chef Kareem Roberts, a valued partner for Antigua and Barbuda, prepared a menu blending Caribbean flavours with modern British influences. Known for his role in helping Antigua and Barbuda make its mark on the UK’s culinary map, Chef Kareem Roberts has been instrumental in showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the islands. Earlier this year, he joined a panel titled The Art of Living: Food for Thought, where he discussed the importance of food as a gateway to cultural experiences. Our previous collaborations with Chef Kareem included a celebration event at National Geographic and a media cook-along, both of which highlighted the vibrant flavours and unique hospitality traditions of Antigua. It was a pleasure to partner with him again, bringing an authentic taste of the islands to Cambridge in such a memorable way.
“World Travel Market is an invaluable platform for Antigua and Barbuda, and we are grateful to our partners who help make our vision a reality,” said Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. “This dinner was a way for us to celebrate and express our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to our mission of sharing the spirit of Antigua and Barbuda with travellers worldwide.”
“As World Travel Market concluded, we enjoyed an unforgettable evening in Cambridge with Chef Kareem at the Burleigh Arms. His warmth, passion, and incredible flavours truly transported us to the Caribbean. Chef Kareem is a remarkable ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda, and his talent is one to cherish. He has a bright future ahead,” said Paula Whitehead, Director at Resort Marketing.
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority extends sincere thanks to all who attended and contributed to making World Travel Market a success. We look forward to building long-lasting relationships within the industry and even greater collaboration in the coming year.
