Renting a car is a popular option. Just bring your valid driver’s license and pay a small EC$50 fee for a driving permit. Taxis are also readily available, with fixed fares to key destinations like the airport and English Harbour.

A popular option for visitors who want to explore the island at their own pace. You'll need a valid driver's license from your home country and to purchase a temporary driver's license in Antigua. We drive on the left-side of there road here, and most vehicles are right-hand drive.

Also known as "bus taxis", these small vans operate on set routes throughout the island. They're a great way to experience local life and get around the island affordably.Â

You can take a ferry from Antigua to Barbuda, which takes about an hour and a half.Â

Things to know
Peak traffic hours are from 8 AM–4 PM. Sidewalks are not very common in Antigua, especially outside of downtown St. John's. Public transportation is not available in Barbuda due to its small size and centralized nature.
