Antigua Sugar mills

The booming sugar industry, led to the rapid creation of plantations across the island and the erection of up to 175 windmills.

Whilst they no longer dominate the landscape, a handful of reminders of this dramatic piece of Antigua’s history can still be seen, including at Betty’s Hope in the eastern half of the island.
